What to Expect

Our goal is summed up in our short church statement: “DBC will be a church that Knows Jesus, Grows in Jesus, and Shows Jesus through our worship, prayer, service and love.” As such, we just want to honor Jesus as we help lead people into a closer relationship with Him. Because Jesus most certainly was very authentic, and was certainly not dull or boring, we want to reflect Him!

Our dress for our services is “casual,” but we know you’ll also feel welcome and right at home if you want to come in coat and tie.

There is a time to fellowship during our Mix & Mingle (9:30 AM – 9:50 AM) where you can also enjoy some coffee and snacks (no charge). This is an informal time to connect with people from both our services.

There are always people who are delighted to make you feel welcome as you arrive – they can answer questions you may have and point you in the right direction.

“Worship is all about God, and not about us!”:

At 10:00 AM we gather in the auditorium for worship. We have times of prayer and singing, where we sing songs of praise (both contemporary as well as hymns). Songs are led by our Worship Leaders and praise team. Our pastor brings a Biblical message that will encourage and challenge people from all walks of life.

Mix & Mingle: Feel free to come a little early and get to know us and make some new friends. Our Mix & Mingle time starts at 9:30 AM and runs until about 9:50 AM. We have some great FREE coffee and snacks (usually donuts, plus some very tasty bagels from BagelArt).
We believe the parents/guardians of the children should have the choice of whether they want their children with them in the worship service. During the 10:00 AM worship service we offer children’s church and nursery but you are free to keep your kids with you during the singing and message too if you prefer. Children are always a welcome part of our worship. During the worship service, the kids (ages 4 thru grade 4) are welcome to participate in Children’s Church. These kids are escorted back to you by the close of the 10:00 AM service.  Our staff of volunteers not only love children, but want to show the kids the love of Jesus Christ. All volunteers who work with our children have child protection and background clearance.
9:00 AM Our Senior Adults (Recycled Teens) host the LIFEGroup that meets in our Conference Room/Library. This group also is an ‘Open’ group, so you may feel welcome to drop in any time.
LIFEGroups: Our other LIFEGroups all meet throughout the week in homes in the community at various times and are open to anyone at any time. You can check on the different group meeting locations and times by just following this link. Child care may be provided in the homes where needed. Find a LIFEGroup near you. CLICK HERE.

Our responsibility is to make sure the youth experience is filled with knowledge of Jesus, Biblical truths, worship, prayer, service, love and fun. We encourage youth in grades 6-12 to attend our Youth Group on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and our Youth LIFEGroup Bible Study Sunday mornings from 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM. Caraway Street is our exciting ministry for children of all ages. Caraway Street is part of our Sunday Children’s Church where the ‘little people’ (puppets) will help ‘teach’ Bible stories during the Children’s Church time (during 10:00 AM worship service)
